Google News adds more homepage topics on desktop

Google News received a desktop overhaul last June, incorporating a fresh selection of 60 topics to the "Your Topics" feature, enabling a personalized homepage for users. "Your Topics" materializes as a grid of cards that feature three stories each, right after "Your Briefing" on news.google.com. Initially, users were only given a choice of eight categories that include U.S., World, Business, Technology, Entertainment, Sport, Science, and Health. However, with the updated customization feature, users can now select from 60 categories, which are neatly organized according to their subject. These categories include Headline News, Entertainment, Sports, Business, Technology, Health, Science, Education, and Lifestyle. Users can opt to choose either a broader category or a more detailed one.

For instance, in Technology, you can choose from Mobile, Energy, Gaming, Internet security, Gadget, Virtual reality, and Robotics. You are allowed to select up to 12 categories and reorder them as you please, with the option to "Reset to Default" situated at the bottom of the page. This revamped feature provides an efficient way to stay updated with the latest news stories.
