One more bad news for Google employees

Google has recently communicated to its employees via email that it intends to reduce the number of promotions into the L6 and above senior levels this year. This announcement comes as a further blow to the employees of the tech giant, who have already suffered a significant number of layoffs earlier in the year. The L6 distinction at Google refers to the first layer of senior staff with a minimum of ten years' experience.

According to a report from cnbc.com, Google has implemented a new performance review system known as Google Reviews and Development (GRAD). The process is expected to be similar to the previous year's, with managers taking the lead. However, due to the slower pace of hiring, there will be fewer promotions into the L6 and above levels compared to the period when Google was expanding rapidly.

In the email sent to employees, Google stated, "with our slower pace of hiring, we are planning for fewer promotions into L6 and above than when Google was growing quickly."
